All Good Things...

I thought about titling this "All Good Things Must Come to an End" but decided that wasn't going to have the effect I wanted.

Had my first post-surgery appointment today. Everything's healing up nicely and the doc is satisfied with the progress enough to release me back to work. The abdominal CT confirmed that there is a small cyst on my liver but it is benign and of no further concern. The final staging of the tumor is stage 2, based on the size (which, if I recall correctly, means the tumor was over 2 cm but under 5 cm). All this means I'm back to work starting on Monday with no restrictions, which has made my supervisor a very happy person.

Tomorrow, I meet my radiation oncologist. However, I won't see much of him or her until after I finish my chemotherapy. And I see the medical oncologist for chemo on Halloween. After that, I'll have a better idea of what the next phase of treatment is and how long. I have another followup with the surgeon on November 6th and eventually I'll only see her a couple times a year.

All the oncology treatments will be closer to home so I can work as much as possible around them and not take so much time off. With the return to work, I'll be on first shift, so I'm planning to schedule the appointments for treatments in the early afternoon and will only miss a couple hours of work those days. At least that's the plan anyway. :)

I'm feeling pretty good overall. Have enjoyed the time off, but am (mostly) ready to go back to work. Though, I've spent most of the time I've had off catching up with friends and enjoying the "vacation." Feel free to send me an email or give me a call.

Love & Hugs!
