Yesterday was a "normal" appointment as it wasn't cancer related. Today, my lymph nodes were biopsied. Those results should be back Friday.
I went to the Susan Komen Center for Breast Health today. I was early (shocking, I know!) but they whisked me back and got the ultrasound done right away. The room was crowded... a nurse, an ultrasound tech, and two doctors - neither of which looked old enough to be out of college, let alone Med school. (Yes, both were cute.) Mind you, the room wasn't any bigger than my closet (which is huge compared to most closets) but with six people, medical equipment and other assorted paraphernalia, it was crowded.
One more diagnostic procedure on Friday and surgery a week from today. Surgery is shortly after 8 AM and provided they do just the lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy, I will be home that night. If they end up take a lot of lymph nodes, I could be in the hospital a day or two.
